The historic Mughal road connecting Rajouri and Poonch districts to the Kashmir Valley was once again closed for vehicular movement due to a landslide on Tuesday.
The road was opened on Monday after clearing the debris of the landslide that occurred in Rata Chhamb area last week, an official said. The road was open for one-way traffic since yesterday afternoon and has been suspended for traffic in both directions today i.e. Tuesday following a landslide at Rata Chhamb in Surankote, the official said.
The work to clear the debris is underway with the help of machines and men and the road will be opened soon, the official said. Meanwhile, hundreds of vehicles are stranded on both sides of the road.
