The stock market opened on the first day of the week with a fall on Monday. The Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) Sensex is trading at 55,871.39, down 1,140.35 points or 2.00 per cent. Due to this the market cap has come down by Rs 6 lakh crore to Rs 254 lakh crore. At the same time, the Nifty of the National Stock Exchange (NSE) is trading at a level of 16,646.70, down 338.50 points or 1.99 percent.

At the beginning of trading, the Sensex lost 494 points to open at 56,517. Only PowerGrid and Wipro are leading in 30 Sensex stocks, while 28 stocks are down heavily. Tata Steel is down more than 3 per cent in early trade. At the same time, shares like SBI, HDFC Bank, IndusInd Bank, Bajaj Finserv, Mahindra & Mahindra, UltraTech, Axis Bank, Bajaj Finance, Airtel, Tech Mahindra have broken more than 2-2 percent.



Apart from this, 48 ​​out of 50 stocks of Nifty are in decline. Only 2 of its shares are trading in gains. Its shares included major Tata Motors' shares fell 4 percent, JSW 4 percent, Tata Steel 3.50 percent, SBI 3.32 percent and IndusInd Bank 3 percent. However, the shares of Cipla and Wipro are trading in gains. Earlier, on the last trading day of the week, the Sensex lost 889 points and closed at 57,011.
