'Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra Urban Campaign gathers momentum in Jammu city'

Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra Urban Campaign picked up pace in Jammu city on Day Two today. The aim of the yatra is to achieve saturation of various welfare programs launched by the Government of India. Under the campaign, a specially designed IEC (Information, Education, Communication) vanreached City Chowk, one of the busiest market places in the area. During its halt in City Chowk, the IEC vancreated awarenessamong general public about various developmental initiatives takenby  Government of India for the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir.


A freehealth camp was also organized as part of the event. A large number of people availed of the facility.  A camp was also held at which members of the public got their Aadhaarcards issued and updated. 


A pledge - Viksit Bharat Sankalp —  to make India a  developed and self-reliant nation by the year2047 —   was administered to all thosepresent.


Later, the IEC van moved to Bahu Plaza area of the city  to spread awareness about Central Government’s welfare schemes like PM SVANidhi, Mudra Loans, Stand Up India and Start Up India,  Digital Payments revolution,  PM eBus Sewa,  Ayushman Bharat, PM Awas (Urban)  PM Ujjwala Yojana among others.As part of the campaign, on spot services like PM Svanidhi Camp, Health Camp and, Aadhar updation camp was organized.Yesterday, the IEC campaign  was flagged from Jewel Chowk in the city. 

Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi launched the Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra from Khunti, the birth place of Bhagwan Birsa Munda, in Jharkhand,  on the occasion of the Janjatiya Gaurav Divas on November 15, 2023.  The objective of Yatra, which is one of the largest ever outreach initiatives to be undertaken,is to reach out to people, create awareness and provide benefits of welfare schemes on sanitation, essential financial services, electricity, access to LPG cylinders, housing for the poor, food security, proper nutrition, reliable healthcare, clean drinking water, etc. The Viksit Bharat Campaignaims to cover over 2.55 lakh Gram Panchayats and over 3,600 urban local bodies by January 25, 2024, touching every district of the country.
