'Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra brings services to people’s doorsteps in Jammu'

Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra has emerged as a platform for general public to avail government services at their doorsteps. As part of the campaign, the specially designed IEC (Information, Education, Communication) van reached Dusehra Ground in Gandhi Nagar area of Jammu city on Day Four of the yatra today. Besides getting information about various schemes and initiatives taken by the Government  of India for the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir through the yatra, people are benefiting from free health camps, an aadhar updating facility and loans sanctioned under PM SVANidhi scheme. Later in the day, the IEC van moved to Bawe Wali Mata Mahakali Mandir area to create awareness about Central Government’s welfare schemes like Mudra loans, Stand Up India and Start Up India,  Ayushman Bharat,  PM Ujjwala Yojana among others.  
A large number people in both areas  got themselves screened for diseases, such as Diabetes, Tuberculosis and high blood pressure free of cost.  

As part of the yatra, a pledge - Viksit Bharat Sankalp  —   to make India a  developed and self-reliant nation by the year 2047;


Remove any trace of colonial mindset; Celebrate our heritage; Strengthen unity and respect those who protect the country and Perform the duties of a citizen —   was administered to members of the public 


Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra aims to reach out to people, create awareness and provide benefits of welfare schemes on sanitation, essential financial services, electricity, access to LPG cylinders, housing for the poor, food security, proper nutrition, reliable healthcare, clean drinking water, etc.  It was launched by Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi on November 15, 2023. The Viksit Bharat Campaign aims to cover over 2.55 lakh Gram Panchayats and over 3,600 urban local bodies by January 25, 2024, touching every district of the country.
