'Union Home Ministry issued notice to DGP Punjab'

The Union Home Ministry has issued a notice to the Director General of Police, Punjab, on the laxity in the security of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. This notice has been given under Section 14 of the SPG Act.

It said that he did not fulfill his responsibility during the Prime Minister's visit to Punjab. The DGP has been asked to clarify the situation on the entire matter under the provision of departmental action. Apart from the DGP, a show cause notice has also been issued to the SSP of Ferozepur.

Earlier on Friday, a show cause notice was issued to the SSP of Bathinda. It has been said in the notice that what is the reason behind not making arrangements according to the Blue Book issued for the security of the Prime Minister. The Ministry of Home Affairs will take further action only after the reply of the Director General of Police and other officers of Punjab.
