In a major enforcement action, team Enforcement Udhampur, has successfully realized a penalty of ₹ 6,92,216 from a tax payer carrying battery scrap in violation of GST regulations.
Acting on specific intelligence input, the enforcement team udhampur laid a special Naka on the intervening night of 08.02.2025 and 09.02.2025 and intercepted a vehicle in violation of GST norms by circular trading for passing fake Input Tax Credit (ITC) without actual movement of goods in which 05 taxpayers were involved.
During the investigation it was found that the nexus involved 02 taxpayers from Delhi, 01 from J&K (fake), 01 from Haryana and 01 from Punjab carrying battery scrap of Rs 19,22,819 .
The enforcement drive was carried out by team of STOs/Inspectors/Sub Inspectors/Guards in supervision of Sh. Anil Kumar Chandail, JKAS Deputy Commissioner, Enforcement Jammu North (Udhampur) under the able guidance of Sh. P.K. Bhat Commissioner, State Taxes J&K, JKAS and Ms NamritaDogra JKASAddl Commissioner State Taxes, Jammu.
Commissioner appreciated the efforts of Team, Udhampur, for its swift and effective action in breaking the nexus of dealers using fake ITC and discouraging the genuine dealers. He emphasized the department's commitment to fostering a culture of accountability and strict compliance with GST laws/rules.
