So far 35 people have died in the Bawdi accident of Shri Beleshwar Mahadev Jhulelal Temple in the city, while more than 20 people have been evacuated from the Bawdi and admitted to various hospitals, where their treatment is going on. It is being told that one more person is still missing, who is being searched.



Worship was being done here on Ram Navami on Thursday. The havan started at 11:30 am. Inside the temple premises, more than 60 people were sitting on the terrace made of stepwell's girder floor. Then the slab fell completely and everyone fell into a deep step well. This temple is about 60 years old. As soon as the information was received, the police and administrative officials reached the spot and started the rescue. A total of 30 people were evacuated from the stepwell late on Thursday, out of which 14 people had died. After this, after emptying the water of the stepwell, the rescue operation continued for the whole night. Between 12 and 1:30 am, 16 more bodies were removed. After this, the bodies of some people were recovered in the morning. At present the rescue is going on. SDRF, NDRF and army personnel have also taken care of the front. Several teams of the administration are also involved in the rescue operation.





Indore's Divisional Commissioner Dr. Pawan Sharma told that so far 35 deaths have been confirmed in this accident. Relief work is still going on. So far 18 people have been rescued. Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has ordered a judicial inquiry into the incident. He has announced financial assistance of Rs 5 lakh each to the families of the deceased and Rs 50,000 to the injured. The government will bear the expenses of the treatment of the injured.
