Today Red Ribbon Club in collaboration with NCC and NSS Units of Government Degree College Budhal, Rajouri organized an extension lecture on ‘Blood Donation’ under the patronage of Principal Dr. Mohd Mazammal Hussain.
The proceedings of the event were conducted by Cadet Mushtaq Ahmad, B.A. 5th semester student.
Dr. Shahid Mehmood, HOD Zoology, the resource person of the event laid stress on ‘The Concept of Blood and Importance of Blood Donation’. He informed the students about the process of transfusion and related concepts busting the myths around Blood Donation. He told the audience about various components of Blood and its groups. He also emphasized on the need of awareness of procedure & criteria of blood donation among the society in general and students in particular. Around 140 students including NCC cadets, NSS volunteers were present in the event.
Dr. Daya Ram, ANO NCC, shared his view on the topic and encouraged the students particularly the NCC Cadets to donate blood.
The whole event was coordinated by Dr. Ajaz Hussain Shah, NSS Programme Officer.
The principal of the college Dr. Mohd Mazammal Hussain applauded the efforts of the RRC Nodal Officer and ANO NCC and said that donating blood is a noble cause and selfless act which helps save lives.
The event was concluded with formal vote of thanks by Dr. Syed Mohmad Javad (Nodal Officer RRC).
Other faculty members Dr. Ishfaq Ahmad Bhat, Prof. Ajaz Ahmad, Dr. Mohd Farooq, Dr. Amarjeet Singh, Dr. Muzafar Iqbal, Dr. Shahid Mir, Miss Anu Sharma, Zuha Anjum, Mr. Talit Sarwar,,l Dr. Adris Anjum were also present on the occasion.
