Continuing the drive against drug abuse launched by District Police Reasi, today a performing routine naka duty at Puria, Pouni area where an Auto bearing Regd.No.JK20-4275 which was coming from Pouni side towards Puria, Domail was stopped for checking. During checking of the said vehicle, 18 strips ( Containing 10 tablets each) of Novotram and 45 strips ( Containing 10 tablets each) of Denpinol P wrapped inside an orange colored polythene bag were recovered from the dash board of the vehicle. On enquiry, the driver of the vehicle disclosed his name as Gopal Krishan S/O Mohan Lal R/O Bharakh Tehsil Pouni District Reasi and co-driver disclosed his identity as Rakesh Singh @ Raju S/O Chatur Singh R/O Pouni. Both of them failed to give any satisfactory reply regarding the possession of tablets.
On this, a Case FIR No 11/2024 U/S 8/21/22/29 NDPS Act got registered at Police Station Pouni and investigation initiated. The arrest was made by SHO Pouni Purab Singh under the supervision of DySP HQ reasi Neeraj Padyar-JKPS.
Mohita Sharma-IPS Senior Superintendent of Police Reasi while sharing the details conveyed that Reasi Police is working on multipronged strategy to deal with the problem of drug abuse and will leave no stone unturned to curb this menace from the society.
