Indian star player and two-time Olympic medalist PV Sindhu has given India its 19th gold medal in the Commonwealth Games 2022. Sindhu won the gold medal by defeating Canada's Michelle Lee 21-15, 21-13 in the women's singles title match on Monday.



Despite being injured in the final match, Sindhu performed brilliantly. Sindhu suffered a left ankle injury, but she did not let the injury dominate the game and won the first game easily 21-15.



In the second game as well, Sindhu looked in rhythm and did not give any chance to the Canadian player to come back and won the second game 21-13 to capture the gold. Sindhu had earlier entered the final after defeating Jia Min of Singapore 21-19, 21-17 in the semi-final.



Let us inform that Sindhu had reached the final of the 2018 edition of these games, where she had to face defeat at the hands of compatriot Saina Nehwal.



India has so far won a total of 56 medals in these games including 19 gold, 15 silver and 22 bronze.
