Police have initiated legal proceedings against a man accused of assaulting his parents and preventing them from entering their home for over a year in Srinagar.
A police spokesperson in a statement issued to the News Vibes of India NVI reads, police have taken cognizance against an individual for assaulting his parents and not allowing them to enter their own home for the past one year in Srinagar.
“Acting upon a written complaint of the accused person's mother namely Taja Banoo wife of Gh Ahmad Wani, a criminal case FIR No. 77/2024 under section 74, 126(2), 351(2) BNS has been registered in Police Station Nowgam and investigation initiated,” it reads.
“The accused individual identified as Mohd Ashraf Wani son of Gh Ahmad Wani resident of S. A. Colony, Nowgam has been brought to the police station for questioning and further investigation into the matter is in progress,” reads the statement.
Pertinently, a video pertaining to this particular incident has been circulating on social media platforms, it reads.
