'Pakistan Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif reiterates his resolve for peace with India'

Pakistan Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif has reiterated his country's determination to maintain peace between India and Pakistan. Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif said lasting peace in South Asia was linked to the resolution of the Jammu and Kashmir issue in accordance with UN resolutions and the wishes of Kashmiris. We want lasting peace with India through dialogue, as war is not an option for any country.

Shahbaz Sharif said that Islamabad and New Delhi should have competition to improve business, economy and condition of their people. Pakistan is not an aggressor country. We spend money on the army to defend our borders and not for aggression on any country.

Prime Minister Sharif discussed the contemporary challenges facing Pakistan. He said Pakistan's economic crisis stems from recent decades of political instability as well as structural problems. The first few decades after the establishment of Pakistan saw impressive growth in all sectors of the economy.

Sharif said that over time we have lost the edge in those areas in which we were ahead. He said the lack of energy and policy action has led to a decline in national productivity. It is noteworthy that this statement of Sharif came after former Prime Minister of Pakistan Imran Khan praised India's foreign policy. He reprimanded such Western countries who were condemning India's buying of oil from Russia.
