'One Day Workshop on investigation of NDPS cases, foolproof investigations leads to conviction: SSP Reasi'

With the aim to improve investigation skills in the cases under NDPS Act, Reasi Police organized one day workshop on cases under NDPS Act and procedure to be followed by investigating officers of district police Reasi. 

In the workshop besides ASP’s, DySP HQ, SDPO’s, Sr.PO, SHO's investigating officers- Sub Inspectors,  Probationary Sub Inspectors. 
The team of officers of Anti-Narcotics Task Force (ANTF) headed by DySP Shamsher Singh, a premier investing agency of J&K police with rich experience of busting networks of drug peddlers & booking them under law delivered a lecture.  Going into threadbare details on Investigation under NDPS Act and destruction of illegal crops. 
 Team of ANTF  delivered lecture with special emphasis on role of   Smugglers and Foreign Exchange Manipulators  (SAFEMA) in forfeiture of Property collected as proceeds of drugs.
A brain storming session of officers deliberated on common procedural omissions during investigation while seizing the banned drugs & collecting related evidences under NDPS Act as well as ‘benefits of doubts’ being drawn by accused persons.

Officers from ANTF spoke on relevant sections of NDPS Act and role of investigating officers in doubts-free collection of evidences by following the laid down procedure under Code of Criminal Procedure (CrPC). Team also shared their experiences through case studies and judgments on the Act with the Participants. 
Sh. Amit Gupta Senior Superintendent of Police Reasi who remained present during the session Conveyed that aim behind this course is to upgrade investigating skills. 

Investigating officers of police are important component of justice delivery system in the country & it  is must to  strengthen them by empowering  with improved knowledge & skills. He said that target is to achieve highest standards of investigation which is prerequisite for improving conviction rate.
