Former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister and Samajwadi Party patriarch Mulayam Singh Yadav's daughter-in-law Aparna Yadav on Wednesday joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
Aparna took the primary membership of the party in the presence of Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya, State President Swatantra Dev Singh, State Vice President Dayashankar Singh at the BJP headquarters.
Aparna is the wife of Prateek Yadav, son of Mulayam Singh's second wife Sadhna Gupta. She has contested the last assembly election from Lucknow Cantt on Samajwadi Party ticket.
Aparna said that she joined BJP after getting influenced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP's policy and practice.
