'Modi enhanced the pride of Braj artists by presenting artwork to the US President'

Sanjhi art was started from Mathura, the birthplace of Lord Krishna, which has its own special significance in Braj Mandal. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has presented an artwork on Vishwa Patel to the President of America to recognize the common art. On this, MLA of Mathura Vrindavan Shrikant Sharma has said that the Prime Minister has made the artists of Braj proud. For this, I express my heartfelt congratulations and gratitude to the people of Braj.

This art related to the pastimes of Lord Krishna is becoming completely extinct today. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has presented Sanjhi's artwork to US President Joe Biden in order to recognize this extinct art all over the world. For the past several decades, the Sanjhi art was confined to the temples of Braj, but now people are hopeful that now the Sanjhi art will get a new identity. Sanjhi is decorated in most of the houses of Braj Mandal on Pitru Paksha. With full zeal and enthusiasm, the women of Braj Mandal conclude it after the Pitru Paksha by making a house-to-house meeting. The common gift given to US President Joe Biden is made from paper cutting.

It may be mentioned that a social organization called The Brij Foundation had organized a Sanjhi fair ten years ago at the ancient Brahma Kund. Apart from the services of Raman Radha Raman Temple and Radha Vallabh Temple at Sanjhikaro in Vrindavan, people of Bhatt family are involved. Ashutosh Verma, a resident of Kans Khar in Mathura, says that this common paper cutting blueprint was made by his Baba Late Chain Sukh Das Verma. This is the design of the famous Kusum Sarovar of Govardhan. A copy of it is still safe with Ashutosh. Ashutosh says that in the year 1979, his father died and between 1992 and 1997, Jitendra Jain, the then director of the National Crafts Museum, Delhi, bought it and took it from his uncle Vijay Verma. He says that paper-cutting work has been done in his family for many generations and the joint gift given by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to US President Joe Biden will give recognition to Sanjhi on the world stage.

Shrikant Sharma, MLA from Mathura Vrindavan region and former Energy Minister, on presenting 'Common Artwork' of Mathura to US President Joe Biden during the Quad conference organized by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Japan, said that the Prime Minister has brought the folk art of Mathura to the world stage. But it is accepted. Along with this, the pride of the artists of Braj has increased. In order to present Indian artefacts to global leaders, US President Joe Biden has presented 'Sanjhi Artwork' of Mathura, dedicated to Lord Krishna by the Gopis of Braj.
