Hurriyat Conference chairman Mirwaiz Umar Farooq on Sunday stressed the need for building an intra-community consensus between Kashmiri Muslims and Pandits on their dignified return to the Valley.
He said, "There are some voices which want a separate cluster in south Kashmir for themselves... That is not acceptable. There is a significant section of Kashmiri Pandits who want to be part of an inclusive society. So there is a need for consensus. We believe that the issue of Kashmiri Pandits is a humanitarian matter. Kashmiri Muslims, irrespective of their sect, want them to return to their homes and live in harmony and peace like before. But a consensus has to be reached between the two communities on the modalities of the return of Kashmiri Pandits to their homes."
