'MAJOR BOVINE SMUGGLING BID FOILED BY RAMBAN POLICE RESCUED 118 BOVINE ANIMALS UNDER OPERATION “KAMDHENU”'

Acting tough against the bovine smugglers and to curb the bovine smuggling menace in District Ramban, different police parties of P/S Batote, P/S Chanderkote, P/S Ramban & PP Jawahar Tunnel intercepted eight different vehicles bearing registration numbers JK14D-3771, JK14B-4007, JK06B-7575, JK18A-2310,
JK05D-2430,
JK19-0062,
JK21F-4786 and JK02BK-8607 which were on their way from Jammu towards Srinagar, and after checking all the above mentioned vehicles were found loaded with 118 Bovine animals with utmost cruelty and without any arrangements of food and water and these bovine animals were being transported to valley without any valid permission of competent authority, thereby rescuing in total 118 bovine animals under the *operation “KAMDHENU”. In this regard, Case FIR No’s  112/2022, 113/2022 & 114/2022 in PS Batote, 94/2022, 95/2022 and 96/2022 registered in PS Chanderkote, Case FIR No 190/2022 registered in PS Ramban & Case FIR No 118/2022  registered in P/S Banihal under relevant sections of law and investigation set into motion.
          The overall rescue operation was made by police parties under the command of  Insp  Rakesh Jamwal SHO Batote, Insp P D Singh SHO Chanderkote, Insp Sandeep Charak SHO Ramban, PSI Harish Kumar IC PP JT & Insp Muneer Khan SHO Banihal under the supervision of  Sh. Pardeep Singh Sen Dy.SP HQ Ramban and Sh Nissar Khoja SDPO Banihal with the overall supervision of SP Ramban, Ms Mohita Sharma IPS.
         Distt Police Ramban is striving hard and taking every possible step to curb the bovine smuggling menace.District Police seek support from people to share information about bovine smuggling with police for timely intervention for the cause.
