In protest against the functioning of the Jal Shakti Department, the anger of the people of Ward 1 of the city erupted. Angry people staged a demonstration on the college road showing empty utensils. The protesters alleged that the department was not solving the problem. Many times the staff has been requested by going to the station but no one is ready to listen. Councilor Meira Kumari, who is leading the protesters, said that several times requests have been made to the departmental officials but the problem could not be resolved. There is a tubewell in front of their locality but they are worried about the supply. Even after four to five days, even if the supply is made during the night, the women are unable to see the working of the water during the night. He said that if the department does not solve the problem, they will be forced to agitate. He also raised the issue of getting less ration and said that the government gives five kg ration but they get four kg from the depot. They are neither getting ration nor water, so what will be their condition, it can be guessed.
