The Kargil Vijay Mashal Yatra, which left from Kishtwar on 23 June 2022, after covering a distance of about 128 km, reached the Army Garrison at Chandrakot on Friday, where it was accorded a warm welcome.
On reaching here, the senior-most army officer of the Chandrakot garrison received the victory torch in the presence of about 180 people including civilians, ex-servicemen and army personnel.
In keeping with the military ethos, Vijay Mashal was given the Guard of Honor salute. Wreaths were laid on the occasion to honor the sacrifice of the brave soldiers in the line of duty.
The whole atmosphere reverberated with slogans like 'Bharat Mata Ki Jai' along with military tunes played by the army band. The ex-servicemen who attended the event cherished the proud moments of their lives while serving with the Indian Army on this memorable occasion. After his visit, Vijay Mashal was handed over to the Territorial Army Battalion at Ramban.
