Vehicular movement is continuing smoothly on the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway. Small vehicles have been allowed to ply on both sides of the highway since Wednesday morning. Heavy vehicles will be flagged off after light vehicles have passed. The vehicles of the security forces will be allowed to go only after the exit of all the small and big vehicles.

On Wednesday, after passing of light passenger and private vehicles on the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway, heavy vehicles will be sent from Jakhaini Udhampur towards Srinagar. The officials have appealed to the security forces to move their vehicles from Jammu to Srinagar only after passing the goods and other vehicles and taking stock of the latest condition of the highway, following the traffic rules.

Meanwhile, the Srinagar-Sonamarg-Gumri highway is closed for vehicular movement from both the sides due to slippery conditions. Meanwhile, the Mughal road connecting Rajouri and Poonch districts with Shopian in South Kashmir is also closed due to snowfall. Heavy vehicles will be allowed to move only after light vehicles leave. Officials say that after the fixed time, no vehicle will be allowed to move on the National Highway and other routes.
