Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) women's team completed a patrol (17,000 ft) along the Uttarakhand border. The theme of the special patrol was also based on the campaign 'Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav' and 'Har Ghar Tiranga'.
ITBP spokesperson Vivek Pandey said that ITBP had started deploying women personnel at border posts from 2016. Presently there are around 2500 women serving in the force.
It is noteworthy that ITBP guards the 3488 km long border of India-China, whose personnel are mostly deployed in difficult terrains of high altitude and snow and difficult climatic conditions.
