'International Day against Drug abuse and illicit trafficking celebrated at Kotranka.'

Health Department Kotranka organised an awareness event at Dak Bunglow Kotranka on Sunday. The program was inaugurated by Chief Medical Officer Rajouri Dr Hamid Zarger. Tehsildar Kotranka was also present at the event.

The main aim of 'International Day against Drug abuse and illicit trafficking' is to spread awareness about the physical and psychological impact of substance abuse, drug overdose deaths, and drugs-related problems across the globe. It also seeks to strengthen action and cooperation in achieving the goal of a world free of drug abuse.

The event was organised as per the directions of Director Health Services Jammu Dr Saleem Ur Rehman.

Addressing the ASHA workers, health staff and general public, Chief Medical Officer Dr Hamid Zarger said that our focus is to create awareness about the hazardous impacts of drug abuse on the society and to create a world without it. We have to work together to make our society free from this menace.

Mohd Ayoub Lone CHO Kandi said that people who consume illegal durgs not only play with their lives but also burn the accumulated capital of their family. The health department is making people aware about the grave consequences of drug abuse.  

Dr Iqbal Malik said that the focus of the Health Department is to provide access to quality healthcare services to all the patients. It also includes preventive counselling and awareness. 

To conclude the program a public procession was carried from Dak Bunglow Kotranka to the Ans River Bridge. The rally passed through Bus Stand Kotranka. CMO Rajouri himself led the rally with banners and posters carried by health staff for general public awareness.
