'Heavy vehicles allowed on both sides of the highway on the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway'

Traffic continues smoothly on the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway. Heavy vehicles have been allowed to ply on both sides of the highway from Friday morning. Light vehicles will be dispatched after heavy vehicles have passed and vehicles of security forces will be allowed only after all small and big vehicles have passed.

Heavy vehicles will be flagged off from Jakhaini Udhampur to Srinagar by the authorities on the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway on Friday after passing light passenger and private vehicles from both the sides. Officials have appealed to the security forces to move their vehicles from Jammu to Srinagar only after following the traffic rules and taking stock of the current situation on the highway.

Meanwhile, the Srinagar-Sonmarg-Gumri road has been closed for traffic on both sides on Friday due to work. During this, the Mughal Road and SSG Road, connecting Rajouri and Poonch districts with Shopian in South Kashmir, are also open for the movement of light vehicles on both sides. Heavy vehicles will be allowed only after the light vehicles leave. Officials say that no vehicle will be allowed to move on the national highway and other routes after the stipulated time.
