In Ladakh, In response to the heavy snowfall affecting the Drass region, the Drass Administration, in collaboration with local authorities and community members, has initiated comprehensive relief efforts to aid stranded passengers. Since yesterday, the Drass Administration has accommodated 34 stranded passengers at the Pandrass guest house, providing essential amenities including food and heating facilities. The SDM and SHO Drass, along dedicated police personnel and locals, have been instrumental in ensuring the comfort and safety of the stranded individuals. Furthermore, recognising the plight of 34 stranded labourers, the administration swiftly arranged accommodation at the PDD guest house in Pandrass, demonstrating a commitment to inclusivity and welfare. In addition to offering passenger assistance, about 25 drivers have sought refuge in Matayen hotels where the SDM and SHO Drass have personally inspected and guaranteed fair pricing. The stranded passengers and labourers have expressed gratitude for the prompt and efficient response of the Drass Administration amidst the challenging circumstances caused by the blockade of the Srinagar-Leh National Highway. As the snowfall continues, the Drass Administration reaffirms its commitment to serving the community and ensuring the well-being of all residents and visitors in the region.
