In a statement issued by District Police Doda, it was told that a complaint was lodged by one Kamran Ahmed S/O Nazir Ahmed R/O Koti Tehsil Doda working as sweeper in OPD Block GMC Doda mentioning in his complaint that on 15.01.2024, he found (04) Batteries stolen by some unknown thieves from OPD Block of GMC Doda after breaking the wall on the intervening night of 15-01-2024.
On the receipt of this complaint, case FIR No. 12/2024 under relevant sections was registered at Police station Doda and investigation of the case was entrusted to PSI Aman Sharma in-charge Police Post DH Doda. Immediately after the registration of FIR, Police swung into action and with the help of CCTV footage, police identified the thieves as (1) Mubarak Ali son of Abdul Rashid resident of Sadiq Abad Doda and (2) Ashiq Hussain son of Abdul Gaffar resident of Pranoo Bhaderwah involved in the theft and they were arrested. The Govt.stolen property (Batteries) was recovered from them and further investigation of the case is going on.
It will not be exaggerated to say that District Police Doda has worked out number of theft/snatching cases and arrested the thieves/snatchers on the basis of technical lead, cultivated sources and on the basis of past track record of the habitual thieves and has recovered the stolen/snatched property.
