The Chairman/Chief Executive Councilor, LAHDC Leh Gyal P. Wangyal along with Dy. Chairman Tsering Sandup and Executive Counicllor for Agriculture Phuntsog Stanzin yesterday evening called on Hon’ble Lt. Governor UT Ladakh Shri. Radha Krishna Mathur at Raj Niwas and submitted a proposal to Lt. Governor regarding disbursement of funds to the tune of Rs. 10 Crore out of the LAHDC Leh fund as incentive to various trades under Tourism Sector to compensate the losses caused due to COVID-19 pandemic through a society namely Leh Development Authority and requested Lt. Governor for his guidance in the matter.
CEC also apprised Lt. Governor that a sum of Rs.50 Crore under CRF is lying with J&K govt. and due to some issue J&K govt. is not releasing the amount. Works undertaken under CRF are pending for completion due to want of funds. Most of these works includes black topping for which the working season is fast shrinking and hardly 15-20 days are left and requested Lt. Governor intervention to direct the Finance Department, UT Ladakh for release of fund amounting to Rs.50 Crore from any suitable head till the actual funds are received from J&K Government.
