Congress's Bharat Jodo Yatra started from Vijaypur in Samba district at 7 am on Monday. It will reach Satwari in Jammu at around 12 noon. Rahul Gandhi will address a public meeting in Ashok Nagar a little before Satwari Chowk. This yatra was started from Kanyakumari.
Congress leaders Digvijay Singh, Jairam Ramesh, Rajni Patil etc. are included in the yatra with Rahul. Strict security arrangements have been made for the yatra. In Jammu and Kashmir, the yatra will reach Jammu on Monday amid tight security passing through Kathua, Samba and Vijaipur. After the reception at Kunjwani Chowk, the main program is to be held on the Jammu-Kathua National Highway near Ashok Nagar. In view of the yatra, the route of vehicles coming to Jammu has been changed. Vehicles coming to Jammu city from National Highway will be allowed to enter through Kunjwani Chowk. These vehicles will be allowed to enter the city via Narwal.
This yatra will take night rest at the Forest Security Force ground at Sidhada. Following the bomb blasts in Jammu's Narwal Mandi area on Saturday, the security of the venue and Rahul Gandhi has been beefed up. The yatra will reach Sher-e-Kashmir Maidan in Srinagar on January 30.
