'Bharat Jodo Yatra started to give message of unity and harmony: Rahul Gandhi'

Senior Congress leader Rahul Gandhi's Bharat Jodo Yatra entered Himachal on Wednesday morning. After entering Indora in Kangra district, this yatra will cover a distance of about 24 kilometers on foot today. Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu, Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri, State Congress President Pratibha Singh and members of the Council of Ministers besides other party leaders were present to welcome Rahul Gandhi.

Rahul Gandhi said that the purpose of starting Bharat Jodo Yatra is to give the message of unity and harmony in the country. This yatra, which was started from Kanyakumari about four months ago, is against the ideology of hatred. Along with this, through the yatra, the government is also being warned about rising inflation and unemployment. He alleged that the central government was making all its policies to please some industrialist friends. Whether it is demonetisation or GST, the decisions of the Central Government are not in the interest of the labourers, the poor and the common man. The government is trying to suppress the voice of the opposition on every platform. The leaders of the opposition are not given an opportunity to speak in the Parliament.

Rahul Gandhi said that earlier the Bharat Jodo Yatra was not proposed in Himachal Pradesh, but due to the affection of Himachalis, the yatra route was changed. He said that this yatra has received a lot of support from all over the country and he has also got to learn a lot.

On this occasion, Chief Minister Sukhu welcomed Rahul Gandhi and said that the massive victory of the State Congress is the victory of truth over corruption. The credit for this goes to the dedication and determined efforts of Rahul and Priyanka Gandhi. He said that through Hath Se Hath Jodo campaign, entire Himachal would follow the path of unity and integrity shown by the Congress.

This yatra will reach Malot after noon via Indora, where Rahul Gandhi will address the public meeting. After this, this yatra will enter Jammu and Kashmir via Pathankot in Punjab. Rahul Gandhi is leading the 3570 kilometer march. This journey started from Kanyakumari in Tamil Nadu on 7 September 2022 and will end with the hoisting of the national flag in Srinagar on 30 January 2023.
