Once again the weather has turned bad in Jammu and Kashmir. It has been raining in the upper and plain areas of Jammu and Kashmir since Thursday night, which continued till Friday afternoon. Due to rain, people have started feeling cold again. Due to no rain for the last one month, people were feeling the heat. Meanwhile, the Meteorological Department had predicted rain in the upper and plains of Jammu and Kashmir in the next 24 hours today i.e. on Friday.
An official of the Meteorological Department said that from March 18 to 20, there is a possibility of intermittent rain in the higher reaches and strong winds at some places.
Srinagar, on the other hand, recorded a low of 6.6 degrees Celsius as against last night's 5.5 degrees Celsius. Qazigund recorded a low of 4.5 degrees Celsius as against the previous night's 4.2 degrees Celsius. Pahalgam recorded a low of 1.6 degrees Celsius as against 0.8 degrees Celsius the previous night. Kokernag recorded a minimum temperature of 4.6, Gulmarg minus 0.5 degree Celsius, Kupwara city mercury settled at 4.3 degree Celsius as against 3.2 degree Celsius last night.
Jammu recorded a minimum temperature of 14.3 degrees Celsius. The minimum temperature was 6.2 in Banihal, 7.3 in Batote, 12.5 in Katra and 4.6 in Bhaderwah. Leh and Drass in Ladakh recorded a minimum temperature of minus 3.2 degrees Celsius and minus 3.6 degrees Celsius.
